Effects of Mulberry Leaves and Pennisetum Hybrid Mix-Silage on Fermentation Parameters and Bacterial Community

The silage quality and bacterial community of hybrid Pennisetum (P. hydridum × P. americanum) with or without 30% 50% mulberry leaves for 3, 7, 14, 30 days were investigated. Results showed that compared the 100% group, more lactic acid (40.71 vs. 80.81 g/kg dry matter (DM)), acetic (10.99 31.84 DM), bacteria (8.46 8.51 log10 cfu/g fresh matter), water-soluble carbohydrates (2.41 4.41 g/100 g crude protein (4.97 10.84 true (3.91 8.52 DM) content as well less neutral detergent fiber (67.30 47.26 (33.85 25.38 yeast counts (4.78 2.39 matter) an appropriate pH (3.77 4.06) found in silages added at ensiling. Moreover, addition also influenced relative abundance community. Firmicutes increased Proteobacteria decreased when added. Weissella Lactobacillus increased. To sum up above, mixing yielded greatest fermentation this study. In conclusion, could be a reasonable way to improve silage.
